Torquay United have signed right-back Finn Tonks on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old worked with Gulls boss Paul Wotton when he spent a short time on loan at his former club Truro City last season.

Tonks has agreed a six-month deal with the National League South side.

“It’s a great opportunity for me coming down to Torquay, it’s a big club with a good history, so it was a no-brainer when it came up,” Tonks told the club website.

“National League South is a very good standard, and different to what I’m used to, but I’m ready to step up to the challenge.

“I’m a very tenacious, attacking and energetic player. I like to get up and down, get stuck in, and work very hard.”
