Southampton have signed defender Ronnie Edwards from Peterborough United for a reported 拢3m on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old played 45 times in League One last season, helping Peterborough win the EFL Trophy against Bristol City at Wembley and reach the play-offs.
Edwards captained England Under-20s and will play his first season in the Premier League after also featuring in the Championship for the Posh.
"I'm buzzing to be here. It's a massive club and I can鈥檛 wait to get started," Edwards said.
"Obviously from what happened last year they had an unbelievable season. The manager (Russell Martin) seems like he鈥檚 got a great bunch of lads and they鈥檝e got a real togetherness, and the style of play Southampton plays suits me the best.
"I'm excited to get going. It's a dream come true for anyone, so I鈥檝e got to be excited and obviously looking forward to it."
Saints, who defeated Leeds United in the Championship play-off final last season, have already signed Adam Lallana and Charlie Taylor on free transfers from Brighton and Burnley respectively, while Taylor Harwood-Bellis' loan from Manchester City became permanent after promotion.
