Aberystwyth Town 0-4 Briton Ferry Llansawel: Newly promoted Briton Ferry made a dream start to their top-flight campaign by beating Aberystwyth. Summer signing Maia Owen nodded over the line midway through the second half before Alison Witts added a second 10 minutes later. Substitute Jess Denscombe and Fleur Jenkins both got on the scoresheet late on as Briton Ferry stunned Chris Church's outfit - who finished fourth last season.

Cardiff Met 1-2 Swansea City: Last season's runners-up Swansea City came from behind to start their campaign with a hard-fought win over Cardiff Met. Chelsea Cochrane put the hosts ahead after just four minutes at Cyncoed Campus, but debutant Danielle Broadhurst and Stacey John-Davis both netted for the Swans to turn the contest around.

Barry Town United 0-5 The New Saints: Head coach Shauna Duffy guided her Saints side to an emphatic away win over Barry. Molly Havard gave the visitors the lead in the 36th minute - with Lauren Dunkerley, Chantelle Teare, Lia Lewis and Lexi Jones all netting in the second half as TNS clinched victory in style.

Wrexham 0-2 Cardiff City: Defending champions Cardiff kick-started their defence of the title with an impressive win at Wrexham. Ffion Price put the Bluebirds in front from a free-kick in the 56th minute before Eliza Collie sealed victory eight minutes from time.
