Paul Wotton says his side's 0-0 draw at Boreham Wood was "a great point".
The Gulls kept a fourth clean sheet in five matches as they drew at one of National League South's pre-season title favourites in difficult weather due to Storm Bert.
"In the conditions, away to Boreham Wood 0-0, I think that's our fourth clean sheet out of five," Wotton told 大象传媒 Radio Devon.
"We're defending well, we're hard to beat, we've just got to test their goalie a little bit more.
"But tough conditions, against the team that everyone fancies arguably to win the league with a huge budget, 0-0 is a good point."
The draw keeps Torquay fourth in National League South, six points behind leaders Weston-super-Mare who have a game in hand on the rest of the top six.
"It is really tough conditions, fair play for getting the game on," Wotton added.
"I thought we were really brave in our shape today, we changed shape and I thought first half defending into the wind we were excellent.
"Second half with the wind we knew that we'd have to be better on the ball, as always, and I just thought with a couple of half chances I fancied us second half."
