Burton Albion summer signing Geraldo Bajrami has suffered a season-ending knee injury in only his second game for the club.

Head coach Mark Robinson has confirmed that Bajami will be out for the rest of the campaign after sustaining anterior cruciate ligament damage.

The 24-year-old Birmingham-born former Solihull Moors, Kidderminster Harriers and Notts County player began his career at Birmingham City.

He was one of the first new additions at the Pirelli Stadium when Burton were taken over by Swedish-based Nordic Football Group in June.

He made his debut as a 76th-minute substitute in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Mansfield, before suffering his injury just four minutes into Tuesday night's EFL Trophy win over Leicester City Under-21s.

Burton, who have taken one point from their opening two games, are at home on Saturday against Stevenage.
