Jarman wins gold in mens vault

Jake Jarman claimed vault gold at the Gymnastics European Championships in Rimini, Italy.

Jarman, who won Great Britain's first world vault title in 2023, scored 15.000 and 14.766 with his two vaults to clinch gold with an average of 14.883.

Armenian Artur Davtyan took silver with a total of 14.850 and Ukraine's Nazar Chepurnyi finished in bronze on 14.749.

British team-mate Luke Whitehouse was sixth, averaging 13.683 with his two attempts.

In the parallel bars final, James Hall scored 14.366 to place fifth as Ukrainian Illia Kovtun won gold with 15.633.

Jarman's gold came after the 22-year-old world champion finished sixth in the men's floor final on Friday and fourth in the all-around final on Wednesday.

He and the British team will have the chance to earn another medal in Sunday's team final, having qualified second.

The women's championships take place 2-5 May, available to watch on the 大象传媒 Sport website and app.
