    England v Malawi (14:00 BST)

Becky has got all the action at the NEC Arena now, and there’ll be even more Netball entertainment to come at 14:00 BST when England take on Malawi.

It was a winning start to pool B for defending champions England thanks to a 74-22 victory over Trinidad and Tobago on day one of the Games.

England will have an eye on this netball game too.

Australia are one of their closest rivals for gold after the Roses snatched victory from them on the Gold Coast four years ago.

It's not pleasant viewing from an English point of view. Australia's defence is brutally tight and they're getting the ball smoothly into the shooting circle despite the best efforts of Scotland's extremely fired up goal defence Emily Nicholl.

One of the most bizarre moments I've seen in Rugby sevens. Just have a ganders at this.

Lucy Turmel’s pre-match singsong with physio Jade Leeder clearly did the trick.

The four-time British junior champion, and bronze medallist at world junior level has just beaten Papua New Guinea's Amity Alarcos 3-0 in their last-32 match.

Another photo finish is required in race one of the quarter-final between Wales' Emma Finucane and Australia's Kristina Clonan.

Clonan JUST crosses the line first, but she's later relegated and that race is awarded to Finucane.

The top two teams from each of two groups will make it to the semi-finals.

That might be a bit of an ask for Scotland given Jamaica are also in Pool A but everyone loves an underdog don't they?

Let's see what the Thistles have in the second quarter.

Wales' Furlong scores a fourthpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Men's hockey: Canada 0-5 Wales

Gareth Furlong has scored a fourth goal from a penalty corner as Wales go 5-0 up against Canada in the final quarter.

What a result this is so far for Wales. Remember, goal difference could be crucial in Pool B.

    Australia 17-10 Scotland

    Becky Grey

Solid effort from Scotland at the netball and the crowd loves it.

They finish the first quarter a respectable 17-10 down to top seeds and three-time champions Australia.

The Diamonds beat Barbados 95-18 yesterday so this isn't bad going for Scotland.

Capewell left the door open there and Orban came charging through.

But she can't let that happen again with the quality of the opposition here.

The quarter-finals consist of a best-of-three format, and it's England's Sophie Capewell who takes the first tace against Canada's Sarah Orban by the skin of her teeth.

It's a photo finish but Capewell takes the early advantage by just 0.011 seconds.

    Men's hockey: Canada 0-4 Wales

Back to the hockey and Wales have added another with three seconds remaining in the third quarter through Gareth Griffiths.

The midfielder pounced on a loose ball, making himself room, before striking into the net at the near post.

The Welsh are flying in their Pool B opener with 15 minutes to go.

    Becky Grey
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport at NEC Arena

Go on Scotland! The underdogs were 11-3 down against top seeds Australia but a goal rush has got them back to 11-6.

The crowd knows how much of a challenge the Scots face here and are rewarding every piece of skill with plenty of noise, ramping it up further for each of Scotland's six goals.

Goal defence Emily Nicholl and goal shooter Bethan Goodwin have been particularly popular for some nifty efforts to keep the ball in court when it looked like it was going out.

The Uganda fans have excitedly waited at the finish as Victor Kiplangat secured their first ever men's marathon gold at the Commonwealth Games.

But for a wrong turn in the last mile, Kiplagat might have broken the Commonwealth Games recored set by Ian Thompson in 1974.

    Australia 0-0 Scotland

    Becky Grey
    ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport at NEC Arena

The volume welcoming Scotland onto court for their netball match is as high as it was for England yesterday.

Either there are a lot of Scots here - there are a fair few Saltires in the crowd - or Birmingham has embraced Scotland as their second team.

Time to see what they've got against top seeds Australia.

England have failed to reach the quarter-finals of the men's rugby sevens in Coventry after a 20-0 defeat by New Zealand.

The damage was done for England by an opening 34-0 loss against Samoa on Friday.

So it will be New Zealand and Samoa going through to the last eight from Pool A.

That was a heavy looking fall just as they began the flat out sprint after the bell. Wise move for Lowri Thomas her to stay still for a while they medic attend to her.

It knocks the wind from your sails, a fall like that.

But good to see that she is laughing about it with Rhian Edmunds, who looks more shocked about it than Thomas.

In an all-Welsh last 1/8 final, Lowri Thomas crashes out with a heavy thud, but after a few moments, she's back up on her feet and gingerly walking away.

Not how she would have wanted it to happen, but that means Rhian Edmunds is through to the quarter-finals, which are coming up imminently.

They share a hug in the team pen.

'I am still blowing out the cobwebs'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Men's 100m breaststroke

Adam Peaty speaking to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport after qualifying for the 100m breaststroke semi-finals: "I had no idea where I am at. I still don't really, I am still blowing out the cobwebs. I have only done two races this year so it is a little bit different but I felt all right.

On being asked if the foot injury that kept him out of action has healed: "I think so. It feels all right in the water. It is just literally now going through the rounds.

"I mean, you don't have to put in 100% in the heats so we will see how we improve for the semi-finals.

"It is very much a home Games for me. I grew up about 50 minutes away. It is great to see the crowd and hopefully tonight it will be even better.

"It is going to be great to see my boy in the crowd, and everyone else."
