The World Triathlon Championship Series is World Triathlon's annual series of triathlon events used to crown an annual world champion since 2008.

The seven-event 2023 series concludes with the final in Pontevedra, Spain, with the penultimate race held in Sunderland for the first time. Points from the Paris Olympics Test Event will also count.

The overall champion is decided by an athlete's best four results, plus the championship Finals.

The series opener was held in Abu Dhabi back in March with Brits dominating the medals. Alex Yee secured gold in the men’s race and Beth Potter posted her first ever series gold in the women’s competition. Compatriot Sophie Coldwell finished in silver.

Yee & Potter are both absent in Yokohama but Coldwell lines-up alongside reigning world silver medallist Georgie Taylor-Brown, who is starting her bid for her first world title.

Although Commonwealth and Olympic gold medallist Alex Yee is missing, GB’s Barclay Izzard & Jack Wills start in the men’s race in Japan.
