She went so big but that was a big hit. She came up short and landed just before the first line.

It's disappointment for Aimee Fuller. She says 'thank you'. She came so close in Sochi and was so unlucky here in Pyeongchang.

    Women's big air qualification

My word, this is tough to watch.

Fuller lands on the knuckle of the hill, face first. It's virtually a belly flop from miles in the sky. She's OK, managing a wave to the camera, but her Olympics are over.

So, 70.25 is the current 12th position with all the snowboarders having one jump left.

First of all, you want to qualify and secondly you want a high score as that will determine where you start in Friday’s final as they will compete in reverse order.

If you were wondering how far they jump, it’s the equivalent of two double decker buses parked lengthways!

The second run is getting under way. To give you an idea of the size of the ramp, the scaffolding that props it up straddles a road.

    Aimee Fuller is up next...

  7. Big run needed from Fullerpublished at 01:53 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Women's big air qualification

    Ed Leigh
Freestyle skiing and snowboarding commentator on ´óÏó´«Ã½ TV

Aimee is going for that cab double underflip. If she lands that, it will push her to the opposite end of the leaderboard.

  8. Big air first run completepublished at 01:52 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

All of the competitors have had their first attempt at flying through the air off a ramp that touches the sky. Aimee Fuller is 25th in the field of 26. Much improvement needed if she is to have a sniff of the final.

  9. Cheshire goes ninthpublished at 01:48 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Women's halfpipe qualification

A score of 74.00 puts Cheshire into ninth place. Remember, the top 12 qualify for the final after the two runs are completed.

There are four skiers remaining in the first run.

Completed cleanly. Solid, rather than spectacular. It might make the top 12.

When you're working together and living together it can get a bit much, can't it?

This is how figure skating couple Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland try and keep work and personal life separate.

"I get a bit obsessed with thinking and talking about it so the rule is no skating talk after 6pm. It was 9pm but then it’s changed," said Buckland.

"Sometimes something will pop into my head and I’ll want to say something and then I’ll realise that I can’t.

"It’s been very important for us to make an effort to do normal people things; go to the movies, or see friends. We did an escape room thing the other day.

"Anything we can do to keep our minds from obsessing over skating. It helps us be more focused when we train."

As it stands Molly Summerhayes in the halfpipe skiing and Aimee Fuller in the big air will not be reaching the final. They each have a run to go.

Rowan Cheshire will be up soon in the halfpipe.

    Women’s big air qualification

    Anna Thompson

Considering this is only a qualification event, it’s absolutely packed with thousands of people enjoying the spectacle.

Lots of support for the Japanese riders and slopestyle gold medalist Jamie Anderson has plenty of fans here too.

From my position, I can only see the trick and the landing - but they are the most important parts!
