  1. Valieva treatment 'chilling' - Bachpublished at 06:11 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2022

The fallout from Russian teenage figure skater Kamila Valieva's error-strewn performance in Thursday's final continues.

International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has condemned the "chilling" way she has been treated by her coach and entourage in the wake of the final.

Coach Eteri Tutberidze asked an emotional Valieva "why did you stop fighting?".

"When I afterwards saw how she was received by her closest entourage with what appeared to be a tremendous coldness, it was chilling to see this, rather than giving her comfort, rather than to try to help her," said Bach.

    Kent Simpson
    Commentator on ´óÏó´«Ã½ TV

Let’s not forget what happened to Slovakia in the quarter-finals. They were in a similar position against USA, they were one goal down.

But they didn’t panic, they didn’t make irrational decisions.

They kept hanging in there and ultimately were able to get the goal to tie it up.

That will be in the back of their minds.
