Salford Red Devils and New Zealand full-back Kevin Locke has resigned from the Super League side over unpaid wages, reports 大象传媒 Radio Manchester.

The 26-year-old moved to Salford from New Zealand Warriors last year but has struggled with injuries and form.

Locke's solicitor Richard Cramer has confirmed that Locke offered his resignation on Monday, 15 June.

Club owner Marwan Koukash said: "I will be making a full statement, revealing our side of the story, on Tuesday."

Koukash has stated he would for Locke, who was courted by Scotland over a cross-code switch in February that never materialised.

"He [Locke] has sent a resignation request to the club," Koukash told Press Association Sport. "We have not yet responded."

Locke played in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup final at Old Trafford, where New Zealand lost 34-2 to Australia.

Prop Tony Puletua, who is now on loan at Hull KR, confirmed last week that he is taking legal action against Salford.
