Warrington Wolves could have a special visitor to the Halliwell Jones Stadium later this season, when actor Russell Crowe arrives to play a gig in the town, says head coach Sam Burgess.

The pair are good friends after Burgess joined South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2010, a club Crowe co-owns.

Burgess, a 2014 NRL Grand Final winner with Souths, in now in his first top-level head coach role with the Wire.

"I speak to Russell often," Burgess told ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Manchester.

"We had a few days off last week, he was in Rome, so I flew to Rome to see him and we watched a bit of rugby union and hung out.

"He's a great supporter of Warrington, he's friends with [owner] Simon Moran and has been for a long time and he's promoted his music tour he's doing. He'll be at a game hopefully soon."

Crowe plays Warrington Parr Hall on 4 July, with a date in Dublin on 1 July and Paris on the 6 July, but also has gigs in London, Leeds and Inverness later in the month.

Given the fact Souths are currently winless in their opening three games and there is public pressure on their head coach Jason Demetriou, a meeting between Crowe and Burgess could throw up speculation about future moves.

Yet, the Dewsbury-born former Great Britain and England forward, who worked under Demetriou in his own spell on the Bunnies coaching staff, says he is still getting his teeth into coaching at Warrington, and wants to do so for the foreseeable.

"He's really content, he's happy I'm here and enjoying myself here," Burgess added.

"I'm here for two years, I love and enjoy being at Warrington, coaching this club and I'm happy where I am."
