St Helens' England winger Burke suffers ACL injury
St Helens winger Leah Burke suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Grand Final defeat to York Valkyrie.
Burke, who has six England caps, will miss the match against Wales next month and the clash with Australia in Las Vegas in March.
It is the second time that the 26-year-old has sustained this injury, having battled back from doing this in 2023 to her other knee.
She was the leading try scorer in this year's Women's Super League with 28.
Burke scored in the Grand Final, but picked up the injury late on, although she did manage to complete the match.
Now she has to gear up for surgery and another long spell of rehabilitation afterwards.
"It has been a very tough week trying to understand how and why this has happened again," she told .
"However, I know the challenge ahead and the hard work it takes to come back stronger, time to do it all over again.
"2025, I'm coming for you."
