Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell will leave the Super League club following the conclusion of the 2024 season.

The 31-year-old joined the Robins from Leeds Rhinos in 2019 and has gone on to make 118 appearances as well as reaching two Super League play-off semi-finals and the Challenge Cup final.

Prior to his move to Craven Park, Parcell won the Super League Grand Final in his debut season with Leeds Rhinos in 2017, but says it is "not an option" to remain with KR.

"After eight seasons in the Super League, we feel that now is the right time for us to move back to Australia to be closer to family," he

"This decision comes with a mix of emotions, but with the opportunity to stay at Hull KR not an option, we believe moving back to Australia is the best choice for our family at this stage in our lives."

Parcell has scored 33 tries for the club since his arrival just over five years ago, during which time the Robins have transformed into title contenders battling at the top of Super League.

"Matty has played an important role in helping the club reach the strong position it is in today," head coach Willie Peters said.

"I know Matty would love nothing more than to help bring us our first Super League trophy and he will continue to give his best to help make that happen."
