"Sean's someone that will add to us both as a character and as a player."

Romans follows fellow and to the club, and arrives with experience in Super 14 rugby in New Zealand with Highlanders. He has also played for Otago, and won two caps for the Junior All Blacks.

Delaney added: "There were a couple of other clubs that wanted him to go and play for them, but he's chosen to come here which we're very grateful for, and we can't wait to see him."

The club have also announced that scrum-half Tim Usasz will not be returning to Meadow Lane.
