Wales lock Lou Reed and twice-capped full-back Dan Evans are leaving the Scarlets, the region has confirmed.

Neither player's next team have yet been announced.

Reed, 24, made his Wales debut during their Six Nations Grand Slam campaign and Evans, 23, won two caps on Wales's 2009 North America tour.

"It's now just time to move on and look to gain some different experiences," said Reed, who is also to undergo surgery on his knee.

The duo join Stephen Jones (London Wasps), Dominic Day (Bath), Ben Morgan (Gloucester) and Sean Lamont (Glasgow) in leaving Parc y Scarlets.

A pan-Welsh regions salary cap of 拢3.5m each has led to a host of announcements confirming player departures in recent months.

Veteran Wales fly-half Jones, who enjoyed a two-season stint at Clermont Auvergne until a return to his home team in 2006, says foreign experience can benefit players and the national cause.
