Bedford Blues 55-17 Plymouth Albion

  • Published

Bedford full-back Jame Pritchard scored 25 points against Plymouth Albion to bring his former side's excellent start to the season to a juddering halt.

James Stephenson, Josh Bassett, Pritchard and Gregor Gillanders all crossed before the break to give the Blues a commanding 29-3 half-time lead.

Albion get an early second half try through Sam Hocking, but that was quickly cancelled out by Henry Staff.

Hooker Jon Vickers scored a second, but Bedford then turned on the gas again.

Ben Ranson, Jake Sharp and Pritchard, who also kicked six conversions and a penalty, completed the scoring.

Albion had started brightly, Paul Roberts missing a couple of early penalties.

But, despite Roberts getting his range in the end with a penalty to add to his two conversions, they were well beaten.

Albion stay third, but now trail second-placed Bedford by nine points.
