More medals for Guernsey swimmers at Island Games

Guernsey's swimmers won 15 gold, 12 silvers and 11 bronze medals

Guernsey's swimmers added eight more medals on their final day of competition to take their tally to 38.

Ian Powell won his 10th medal in the Isle of Wight with victory in the men's 100m backstroke.

Kristina Neves took her total to 13 with a gold in the women's 200m butterfly and a bronze in the 100m freestyle.

Out of the 15 gold medals won in the pool during the week, Powell won seven and Neves six.

Powell has also broken eight games records and Neves seven.

Three silvers were added with second-place finishes for the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, Matthew Girard in the 50m freestyle and Thomas Hollingsworth in the 200m breaststroke.

Hollingsworth also took a bronze in the 100m backstroke.

The women's team, of Neves, Nicole Hewlett and Lotte and Victoria Parfit, finished third in the 4x100m medley relay final to take the bronze.
