Sports Relief Three Peaks Challenge complete
Kate Silverton and Phil Packer have completed the Three Peaks Challenge for Sport Relief.
The pair battled treacherous weather conditions to reach the summit of Mount Snowdon, the last stop on their difficult mission.
Despite not reaching the top of Ben Nevis on Friday, the dynamic duo battled on to conquer Scafell Pike on Saturday, reaching their target at 1730 GMT after nine hours of climbing.
On Sunday 7 March, they were joined by Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Clive Woodward who accompanied them for the first few hours on the final leg of their dramatic journey in Wales.
Phil and Kate, who camped in sub zero temperatures overnight, went on to successfully reach the top of Mount Snowdon on Monday morning at 1045 GMT.
It has been an epic endeavour for the pair who faced extreme weather conditions in Scotland, forcing them to turn back after 10 hours of trekking - often in thigh deep snow. To get that far in such difficult conditions was a phenomenal achievement for Phil who just two years ago was told it was highly unlikely he would ever walk again.
Phil and Kate were ecstatic at finishing the challenge on a high having completed nearly 10,000 feet of ascent and descent, covering over 20 miles of walking.
Commenting on the summit of Snowdon, Kate said: "Phil has become a legend in my eyes over the last three days. He is truly extraordinary to watch."
Steve Redgrave echoed her sentiments adding: "I have got to know Phil quite well in the last 12 months and he really is an amazing guy. What he has achieved here is phenomenal."
