Staffordshire Lads an' dads youth sports

Staffordshire Lads an' dads provides sport for over 2000 children in the North Staffordshire area ranging from 6 yrs to 17 yrs. Sports include football, swimming, athletics and cross country.

'Ladsanddads', which was uniquely founded in this county by the legendary fromer mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Doug Brown, is made up of 10 branches in Staffordshire, from Stone in the South, up to Biddulph in the North.听

The organisation has now been going for 34 years. It has produced football players which have gone on to become household names. Former Everton player Neil Adams and one of the country鈥檚 top defenders, former Arsenal player Steve Bould. Even pop star Robbie Williams played in the U16鈥檚 league.

Joe Trotter, Clive and Tony, with clips from Garth Crooks, talked to 大象传媒 Radio Stoke's Mary Fox, on her sport nostalgia show in July 2005.
