Women's Cricket

Cricket isn't just for men - Women's Cricket is another popular sport in Staffordshire. Lucy Pearson is the one of Staffordshire County CC's most successful cricketers!

When it comes to Women's Cricket - Lucy Pearson is the one they look up to locally. Though Lucy was born (in February 1972) in King鈥檚 Lynn, she is currently one of Staffordshire County CC's most successful cricketers.

She became the first woman to win the ECB鈥檚 Female Player of the Year Award in 2000, and won it again in 2003.

She played for Wolverhampton as well as Staffordshire County and made her England test debut in 1996 - becoming only the second woman in over 70 years of Test cricket to take 11 wickets in a Test, and the first for nearly 50 years against Australia, at The Bradman Oval in February 2003.

To find out more about Women's Cricket go to the Women's ECB鈥檚 Official Website on the right hand side of this page.
