The newly formed Motorola league (2004) hopes to be causing a similar stir on this side of the Atlantic.

Stoke Quest 7

One of Stoke's main paintballing teams are 'Stoke Quest 7' - they became champions of Paintball Division 3 in 2004, as well as reaching the semi-final of the MPANL Cup!

The Stoke team is comprised of Staffordshire locals, as well as players from across the globe with team members from far afield as Texas, USA!

The side often 'cherry pick' talent which have been spotted at local Paintball centres as well as head-hunting players from other sides.

The sport is becoming increasingly athletic.

What are the rules?

Tournament Paintball bears little resemblance to the stereotype of military-like terrain and forests.

The game is played on marked out pitches (similar to rugby or football) with an independent referee.

The zones are netted off to allow spectators to come along and cheer for the teams.

In terms of merchandise sales, the game is now the 4th largest in America, selling more equipment than Basketball!

Professional teams can be found in both America and Russia.

A sport for the rich and famous!

Tournament style Paintball is becoming also 'the' sport for the rich and famous.

Will Smith, George Clooney and Nu-Metal band Linkin Park all play tournament style Paintball.

Also, when asked if Tournament Paintball could be a future Olympic sport, Frain seemed positive claiming the sport was 'more advanced' than a number of other current Olympic disciplines.
