Saving Planet EarthYou are in: Stoke & Staffordshire > Saving Planet Earth > Eco School Eco SchoolChildren at Waterside Primary School in Stoke on Trent will be saving energy as they learn thanks to their new eco friendly building. Lizzie Meek has been to find out how they're helping the environment... Pupils and teachers at Waterside Primary School in Joiner's Square, Stoke-on-Trent, were used to an old Victorian building. But now, they have now moved into a brand new school.听 As well as being more modern it has loads of energy saving equipment such as a wind turbines and solar panels. They even recycle the rainwater! This all means that it's better for the environment and can help save the school money on electricity bills.听Also, the pupils can monitor how much energy is being saved and use the information as part of their studies.听 They're already very excited about their new building and enjoying learning about all its features...
