It's good to run... or trot ... or just move briskly!
So - why not think of training up for some of Staffordshire's open races, from half-marathons to some of the family runs that may only extend a mile or two?

Potters

The Potters 'Arf Marathon is probably the most famous race in the county, and is attended by runners from all around the world when it comes round each June.听
Once upon a time it was a full marathon, but participants, faced with the many hills of the Stoke-on-Trent course, may be happier that it's now a 13.1 mile race around the streets of the city!

Entry is open to runners of all abilities, whether you are a serious and regular runner or a beginner raising money for charity.听
Check on the race website (below) or contact the organisers (Don Shelley and Gill Walters) for details.
(Runners should note that the roads re-open 2陆 hours after the start so please make sure that you can run the distance in this time).

Races

But there are more races than just the Potters 'Arf, and there is bound to be one near you. They are a great way to have a good time; and to meet people and all at different times of the year.听
For example, the Tamworth Heart 10K race regularly attracts more than 1,000 runners.

And fun-runs are great too.
One in glorious June is the Penkridge Fun Run (see www.penkridgeroundtable.co.uk).

Long-distance stamina-walks too are becoming more popular, so we'll be listing them too as we find out about them.
