After finding himself second from bottom on the judges' leader board last Saturday, Tom describes how humbling it felt to be kept in the competition by the voting public. The elation he experienced when his name was called out in the results show was "similar to a firework going off inside me."
Knowing that the public had saved him, Tom is determined to perform well by way of thanks to the viewers. He joked that if there was a bar big enough he would buy the public a drink, but instead he raised a metaphorical glass to the nation for keeping him in the contest.
Camilla began this week's training working on their Foxtrot for Saturday's show. During the session Tom struggled and didn't pick up the steps as quickly as he has done in the past. At one point, Tom stumbled during the routine and the couple became convinced that it was because they were in a cursed dance studio, as the location of the accident was almost exactly the same spot where Tom had tumbled into the wall, and grazed his arm a few weeks previously.
Then, in a moment of frustration over his hand posture, Camilla took an elastic band and wrapped it around Tom's fingers so that they did not splay whilst the couple were in hold. But, despite this, there were still many giggles throughout their session, as Tom and Camilla continued to focus on perfecting their Foxtrot for the public that saved them.
