Containz Nutz feature guitarist brothers Will and Jon Arundel who, it's claimed, communicate on a subliminal level, thus avoiding Gallagher-style rows and fighting.
Help playing audio/video The roots of the band were put down in 2006, but the current line-up settled down in 2007 with Chaz Law (vocals), Dan Card (bass) and Sam Brown (drums) joining the brothers. The Nutz describe themselves as creating 'fun, epic rock that's really good live with a hint of metal, pop and occasionally reggae thrown in for good measure'. The band all met at the school of rock otherwise known as Farlingaye High in Woodbridge. Vocalist Chaz Law said: "We were all very much into Metallica, Iron Maiden, but recently we've been getting into Blind Melon, more sort of chilled-out, and I've been getting into The Beatles again. "We play a few covers and one of them was Thin Lizzy's Whiskey In The Jar. But I think the twin guitar sound would have developed anyway, just because they play together so much. "We're trying to create stuff that's really good live that we can just rock out to and that people will like. We've got such a range of styles - the metal, really epic style which will have one of the twins on their backs doing this ridiculous solo. Soundwaves, Woodbridge "But then we've also got a more dancey side which the female side of the audience seem to appreciate more." Brotherly loveHaving male siblings in the same bands brings to mind the notoriously disharmonious rivalries of the brothers Davies in The Kinks and the Gallaghers in Oasis, but Chaz said that's not the case with the Arundels: "You'd be surprised - they don't really talk to each other. They seem to communicate without talking - it's a bit weird. "They sort of communicate with their guitars most of the time. There's a lot of guesswork from the rest of us. I can tell them apart, but if you don't know them that well they are identical. "It helps that I know the exact attire of their wardrobes, which helps a lot. They are quite different, they just look similar. "We believe there isn't a leader - that we're all a team. Music-wise we're all on the same level." Driving ambitionGeographically the band members hail from Bawdsey, Woodbridge and Grundisburgh.听 As they're all 17 (as of January 2009) and not able to drive yet, establishing themselves as a live act that can travel any distance is having to be put on hold until at least one of them passes his driving test. "That is the main thing that's holding us back," said Chaz. "I'm getting close and I can feel the test coming. "So it's been our parents carting us round to gigs, so we've been very limited to doing gigs in Ipswich and one in Norwich recently. "We know the Great White Hopes [Suffolk band also featured on our 大象传媒 Introducing section] and they've just got a van. Their plan is to go around the country for gigs and take their hardcore supporters with them and have a party every night. "So that's what we're going to try and do once we've saved up to afford a bus. That's the problem! "None of us really have a job, apart from Sam the drummer who gets an income from playing in the covers band Rogue Trader and Dan works at Budgens, but we're all at school." Mythical interventionsThe band's release their first EP early in 2009 and it will either be called Get Some Nutz, Dan's Song or even The Chronicles of Chiggawogga - Part I. "We had a really drunken night once and Chiggawogga appeared from somewhere and he's this mythical god of music who sometimes gets inside us when we play, which is why we go nuts," said Chaz by way of explanation.
