The Dealer by Tony Royden. Shotgun Publishing. ISBN 9780956125309. Full Price 拢6.99. We are a small book club that meets once a month in a local pub, and we decided to read The Dealer as it was highly recommended by the actor Richard Briers (his review is on the back cover of the book). It's a fictional comedy gangster novel that is fast-paced, gripping, sometimes frightening but mostly laugh-out-loud hilarious. The book is about an Eastend London gangster, nicked name "The Dealer", who has retired to a country village, but his peaceful life is soon turned on its head when he wakes to find a disturbing letter. The mystery of the letter he will not share, and so begins a crazy 12 hour rampage (involving a staggering amount of wonderfully wacky characters), that will keep you riveted and guessing to the end. It's a fantastic read, and a great recommendation by Mr Briers!
