Posey: No, you're not.
Ivy: Not me! The flowers. I planted all these carnations months ago and I thought they'd be colourful and bright and full of joy. But they're just white. They're all white鈥
Posey: Hmm. Well I think I know how to help.
Ivy: Oh Posey how? Posey has a plan for you.
Ivy: Nope, as you were, she's lost it.
Posey: At school, Miss Violet told us about the special tubes that transport water up from the roots up towards the flower.
Ivy: But Posey, mine don't have roots.
Posey: Umm. you don't always need roots. Stems do the job, too. When you put the plants in the water, with or without roots, the tubes in the stem transport the water to the flower.
Ivy: Posey look! It's already started changing.
