Inspire your 11-14 year-olds to become storytellers, as part of the 大象传媒鈥檚 centenary year project 鈥楽hare Your Story鈥.
Hosted by Naga Munchetty and Lindsey Russell, this 大象传媒 Young Reporter Live Lesson highlights the importance of sharing stories and equiping secondary school pupils with some useful storytelling skills.
Our presenters are joined by the award-winning poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay OBE, who provides some storytelling tips on how to give an impactful spoken word performance. Lemn also performs a special poem for us live in the studio.
Students learn about some of the key components that make a powerful story, including how it can be told most effectively. In doing so, we analyse examples of stories from previous 大象传媒 Young Reporter Competition winners to explore what techniques they used to impact the listener, such as their choice of language.
大象传媒 Young Reporter is the 大象传媒鈥檚 journalism and media project supporting young people to develop content creation skills, find out about careers in broadcasting and share their own stories.
The 大象传媒 100 Share Your Story project aims to inspire the next generation of storytellers by delivering a one of a kind, talent led exploration of the power of stories and careers in storytelling sessions to 400,000 secondary school students in 2022. To find out more, click here.
