The Pied Piper of Hamelin
A three-part unit based on the traditional story, popularised by the poem by Robert Browning. The German town of Hamelin is plagued by rats. The mayor and townspeople don't know what to do. Then a mysterious figure with a pipe arrives saying he can rid the town of its vermin鈥or a fee. The mayor readily agrees and the Pied Piper charms the rats away from the town and down to the River Weser. But what will happen when he returns and the mayor goes back on his word鈥?
