Judith Croft, Event Manager from Middlesbrough Council said: "Visitors to the town will certainly see a major transformation in Middlesbrough Centre Square in the lead up to the event.听 The stage and screen alone measure 27 metres wide so it will certainly have a huge impact!"

Alex Hall

Alex Hall

大象传媒 Tees' Alex Hall will be presenting the pre-event entertainment at the event. She said: "With the arrival of the Proms in Middlesbrough we hope that even more people will be encouraged to bring along a picnic and enjoy a fantastic evening of open-air musical entertainment which offers something for all of the family."

Gates open at 5.30pm and street entertainers will be on hand to amuse younger members of the audience in the run up to the pre-event entertainment which kicks-off at 6.15pm with an impressive line-up that includes Journey South, The Wildcats of Kilkenny and the Tees Valley Youth Choir.

Music for the main concert, which is being hosted by 大象传媒 Tees' Breakfast Show host, Matthew Davies will be provided by Northern Sinfonia - recently named by the Times newspaper as one of the UK's top three orchestras - conducted by Michal Dworzynski.

The evening culminates with a big screen live link to London's Royal Albert Hall for the famous Last Night of the proms celebrations and will be followed by a fireworks finale.

Tickets cost 拢10 for adults; 拢8 for concessions (over 60s, under 18s); under 12s are free when accompanied by an adult but they will still need to provide a ticket at the gate, so a family with children under 12 can enjoy a great evening's entertainment for only 拢20 (1 adult per five children under 12).听 Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01642 729729 or via bbc.co.uk/proms.听 Tickets are available up until 8pm on the day of the event from the Box Office at the Town Hall.
