Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas Redbourn Festival prepares for the off!One of Britain’s most popular rock bands is set to play at the first ever Redbourn Festival. The inaugural Redbourn Festival will be taking place on Saturday 11th August at Herts County Show Ground. The Festival is to be headlined by Feeder, one of Britain’s most popular rock bands – as demonstrated by their Best British Band and Best British Live Act Kerrang Awards.Ìý Feeder is taking a short break from recording their new album to play Redbourn. The band is making only a handful of live appearances this year and is set to rock the main stage with hits from their album ‘The Singles’. This one day event boasts a huge line up of music acts including Dirty Pretty Things, The Automatic, The Ordinary Boys, Ghosts, Sandi Thom, plus local talent including Hey Jupiter. With two stages to choose from, head to the Redbourn stage for a real indie rock jam or for a more chilled out music session head to the M1 Stage where Sandi Thom makes a special guest appearance. PartyMark Hyeen, co-organiser of the event told us what he was most looking forward to. "I'm looking forward to some of the smaller bands who are going to get the festival going and get us in the party mood" he said. "Hey Jupiter are certainly one that I want to look out for and at the other end, I also can't wait to see Feeder at the end of the day on that main stage. "To give this opportunity on the big stage for some of these bands is a great opportunity and it's going to be exciting for us as well" he added. FlyingMark also revealed that tickets were going well as they put the finishing touches to the event at the ground which is licensed to hold 35,000 people. "We've got all the bands in place, we're just organising the fun fairs, the last few bits and pieces, the good portaloos, not those rubbish ones!" he said. "We're doing very well, I know tickets are flying out the door. In the last three weeks we've been absolutely flabbergasted by the number of ticket sales." This is good news for the Buncefield Mayor's Recovery Fund who are set to benefit from a percentage of the profits in order to help victims of the Buncefield disaster.ÌýÌý last updated: 30/05/2008 at 15:09 Have Your Say
