Meet the team...

Ever wanted to know more about Jonathan Vernon-Smith's team? Laura Miller produces the programme and Victoria Cook is the reporter.

* Where were you born?

JVS: Welwyn Garden City
LM:ÌýÌý Peterborough
VC:Ìý London

* What is your best money saving tip?

JVS:Ìý When you go shopping - don't take your wallet with you!
LM:ÌýÌý Before you buy anything online or go to a restaurant check to see if there are any BOGOF or money off voucher codes on the internet.
VC:ÌýÌý Shoe Polishing - it's very underrated. It takes 10 minutes, costs next to nothing, helps the leather to stay strong... you'll have those shoes for years!

* What was your first job and how much did you get paid?

JVS:Ìý I was a chamber maid in a hotel in Hertfordshire.Ìý I wasn't paid much and didn't like the uniform so left!
LM:ÌýÌý I was a Saturday sales assistant in a sports shop and was paid £1.50 an hour and I had to work the first day for free to pay for my uniform!
VC:ÌýÌý My first job was to sort through sacks and sacks of people's junk mail. I would have to separate all the leaflets and catalogue them for market research. In retrospect, I probably should have been paid more.

Victoria, JVS and Laura

* You have the day off from the JVS consumer clinic… what will you do?

JVS:Ìý watch Jeremy Kyle.
LM:ÌýÌý Clean, go for a walk, do more cleaning, phone my mum, more cleaning and then cook my husband a nice dinner
VC:ÌýÌý I would be fine until about 11.06am and then I would give in to temptation, switch on my radio and be glued to find out what the latest was on all our cases.

* What's been your best moment working on the JVS show consumer clinic?

JVS:ÌýÌý I always love the moments when we manage to resolve a consumer problem and make someone's day!
LM:ÌýÌý When I won the victoria sponge taste test and we named it the 'laura sponge'. Victoria's attempt was pathetic.
VC:ÌýÌý Totally destroying Laura's 'potato-rocks' in the Taste Test Tuesday Mince Pie Challenge!

* What's the best piece of consumer advice you could give to everyone else?

JVS:Ìý Buy anything costing more than £100 on a credit card.Ìý You must pay the bill straightaway but you'll get the protection that you don't get if you pay for something with cash, cheque or debit card.
LM:ÌýÌý If you're paying someone to do work in your home, don't pay all the money upfront unless you're absolutely certain they will do the job well. If something goes wrong it'll be more difficult to get your money back.
VC:ÌýÌý PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND NEVER SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE 100% HAPPY... IF YOU'RE NOT... CALL US!!!!

* You're given £10 to spend on anything you like, what do you buy?

JVS:ÌýÌý A nice bottle of Malbec.
LM:Ìý Some sushi and a bottle of sparkling wine
VC:ÌýÌý I could go into town, buy two tops, a discounted skirt and a necklace and still have change for something chocolatey.

* What is your best tip for looking young and lovely?

JVS:Ìý Only going out in the dark.
LM:ÌýÌý Take your make-up off before you go to bed
VC:ÌýÌý I find if you stand next to people who aren't very young or lovely - then you look great by comparison. Obviously, I work in such a beautiful team, I would never do this myself.

The Consumer Team!

* You get stuck in a lift with another presenter at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three Counties radio, who would you rather it be and why?

JVS: My mate Ernie Almond - we're best of friends and strangely find each-other hilarious!
LM:Ìý Helen Legh - she's lovely and an ideal coffee and cake companion
VC:ÌýÌý It would be the lovely Lorna Milton. Why? On the night of Dancers in Need 2008 several female personalities from the station were stuck in a lift, for what seemed like forever. Milton was the only person who actually tried to talk everyone into getting out of the lift when the doors were released the first time. But, for some reason, we all piled back into the lift believing it was fixed, only to get stuck for another half an hour. The moral of this story - listen to Lorna Milton when you're next stuck in a lift.
