Set during the sexual revolution of the swinging 60s, it tells the story of sexually frustrated Kath, her butch brother Eddie and their ailing father Kemp, who live in a forgotten part of London.

Their lives are changed forever when they take in a lodger, Sloane, who is charismatic, beautiful and shady! This young tenant with a murky past not only attracts attention from Kath, but Ed too, leading to a dangerous ménage a trois.

Kemp is suspicious of this thuggish young man, but with Ed and Kath both infatuated by Sloane, his concerns and worries go ignored, with disastrous consequences.

Originally performed in 1964 this biting comedy sparked controversy at the time due to its mischievous peep at the hypocrisy behind the new permissive society of the 1960s and the British facilitation with sex.
