It's my tower! You can make one - Mummy's making a really, really high one.
Hi, my name's Kazmin, I've got four children. And Gracie, who's three, has a condition called Septo-optic dysplasia and she's also registered severley sight-impared. But apart from that, Gracie is the most amazing, loving, happy girl ever.
I'm going to make my tower. Are you making your tower? Yee!
So, the effects that Gracie's condition has had on us as a family it almost tore us apart. It was the not knowing with Gracie, not knowing if she was going to walk, talk and I just tormented myself, and then there was a lot of guilt. I felt guilty to laugh or be happy because Gracie was obviously going through what she goes through. But fast forward three years she is the most amazing, happy girl ever. She's brought us so much joy and she's taught me patience, first of all and she's taught me to not take life so seriously because I used to be a worrier, but now I'm not.
I'm playing a game! You're playing a game! Ahh, Mummy found a worm! Another one!
What I found really helpful is being part of a social media group and going to support groups at the hospital so I definitely advise for other parents to do that, because it can be really lonely. I spent a lot of time isolated at home, I didn't want to go out but the support groups and getting to know people has been life changing. Me and my husband's marriage is now in a much more happy, positive place. We've gotten into a really good routine with the kids and making time for ourselves yeah, it's good.
Ha ha!Is that so funny?Yeah!
