The Seaton Sluice SaunterDistance: 3.6 miles
Time: 02:30
Advice: The walk is on tarmac and compacted gravel surfaces. There is one long gradual slope on The Avenue to Seaton Delaval Hall.
Start: From the A1 north of Newcastle, turn east on the A19, and then east on the A190 to Seaton Sluice. This meets the Links Road and at the roundabout, go straight ahead into the 60 place car park. This is the start and finish point.
Points of interest: The walk takes you past endless stretches of golden sands and around a pocket sized harbour, ending up at Vanburgh's masterpiece - Seaton Delaval Hall.
More info: It crosses main roads at a couple of points, so do be aware of traffic, especially when taking children and pets. If you choose to wander off the dunes footpath to the beach, please take special care on the sands, and check the tides for your safety.
