"My wife, well, she sees things a little different to me." Sally, grabs the opportunity to photograph the unexpected holiday friends they meet.

"I love taking pictures on holiday. Pictures remind me of so many things, with spectacular views, the local history and culture, the people, and the food. Whether it's the changing of the Greek Guard, or Buddhist Temples, for me pictures recall memories of happy times, relaxation and enjoyment; something to treasure and look back at, something to make you smile.
My wife, well, she sees things a little different to me. She loves the holidays, but she's got a slightly different perspective. For instance, in Zakynthos, I loved the picture of the shipwreck on the beach - total relaxation. My wife, on the other hand, was busy saving the local kittens, which, of course, she wanted to bring home.
During a visit to another Greek Island, we went on a little walk, which was always about to finish around the next bend. I saw some spectacular sea views, but my wife, she just managed to find the only dogs' home on the island.
In Crete, we visited a beautiful place, with the most serene atmosphere. Whilst, yes - you've guessed it - she managed to take great photos of the local menagerie. We also almost ended up with an adorable mutt who followed us for days. I even missed him when we left.
It's usually cats and dogs, but very occasionally it gets more interesting. With sheep and goats. But odd times, it can get really strange, bizarre, and even ugly. I suppose it makes the holiday a little more interesting. And of course, you never really forget anything when you've got a picture to remind you. So let me introduce you to some holiday friends."

Please tell us little about yourself.
I'm 46, married to Sally for 27 years with 3 grown up Children. I live in Brynmawr a small, friendly valley town at the heads of the valleys, on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons national park. Both Sally and me are psychiatric nurses and I currently work as a Borough Manager in Ysbyty'r Tri Chwm a hospital for older people with mental health problems.
What's your story about?
My story is how my wife and I see holidays from a different perspective. Through a sequence of photographs it shows how the holidays are enjoyed and memories saved forever.
Why did you choose to tell this particular story?
I wanted to show people what I have to endure whilst on holidays, living with an eccentric...No, seriously I wanted to bring fun and humour to such an enjoyable experience.
What did you find most rewarding about the workshop?
Seeing how the activity has the ability to increase confidence, and especially how it can empower the person with dementia. It was very person centred and creative in the way it engages and communicates a real message. It was a great experience learning the skills to practice, and hopefully we will now be able to carry out our own story circles and long term, maybe create our own digital stories.
