"I always could not resist the temptation of delicious food."

"When I was doing my undergraduate degree in Beijing, I was crazy about being slim. So I went on a diet. However, dieting didn't work for me. I always could not resist the temptation of delicious food. A day's diet always ended up with me eating a lot for three days.
One day, a friend of mine sent me a dance video. She told me it was a good exercise to keep fit. I was immediately attracted by it. How amazing that the dancer could move her body like a snake!
I had discovered belly dancing.
Then I started learning it. First, I learnt by myself from the video, and later, I took classes. Belly dancing is not easy to learn. However, I kept on practicing and met a very good teacher from Egypt. With her help, I improved a lot. Now I can move my body like a snake too.
With belly dancing, I don't have to worry about my weight any more. And doing belly dancing has gone far beyond the meaning of losing weight for me. It has become part of my life, something I know I will keep a passion for even when I get old."

Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am from China and currently doing my master degree in Cardiff University. I have many hobbies, including Chinese calligraphy, photography and belly dancing.
What's your story about?
It is about my passion for Belly dancing. Since the first time I did belly dancing, I have been deeply attracted by this beautiful and elegant performance. It not only helps keep fit, but also brings great spiritual enjoyment to those who are doing it.
What did you find most rewarding about the workshop?
I am impressed by the inspirational and warm atmosphere of the whole teaching and learning process. It will be a sweet memory of my stay in Wales.
