"He was bringing shame on the household by wearing these tatty items." A Shoebox Story made by Trevor Sawtell.

Transcript

"My late granddad persisted in wearing a threadbare dressing gown and a pair of much scuffed slippers long after they should have been discarded.

Members of the family often badgered him to buy new saying that he was bringing shame on the household by wearing these tatty items.

Grandma hated having evening visitors as Granddad at this time was invariably in his time loved attire. But despite the family's criticisms, snide hits and threats to throw them in the bin, granddad stayed stubborn until the end.

Granddad is in heaven now. I'm sure he's settled in the show there for how can he be otherwise without his old dressing gown and slippers."
