Ooh Aahh! On the Farm

By James Davies
July 2005,
A digital story from Coleg Sir G芒r

(Sounds: big yawn ... wake-up whistle ... raspberry being blown)

"Life on the farm is a load of (picture of slurry pit). Most people think it's one of the best places to live and grow up as you can have all the room that you would ever want.

I don't think so!

I don't live out in the mountains but when I was younger I might as well have as I couldn't see any of the friends. I could have caught the bus but in the 19 years I have lived here, but I haven't seen it to this day yet. This dead village is full of old people that are slowly dying off. But there is a light: my car. My car has given me hope, I can see my friends and has now brought the town to me. I can go places. HALELIWIA! I have realised the country is the best place to live, but not to grow up.

I can do anything I want to do. Nobody really cares and I know nobody notices. I've got all the room in the world and what do I do? I stay in bed as much as I can. And after 19 years staying in bed, staying in bed has got harder. So I go to work. Now I can afford Sky in my bedroom. I really take my life for granted.

My parents run a horse stud and when people ask me what they do ... I say they are 'service providers' (WINK!) But I have had enough. I wish sometimes I could fly somewhere far far away." (Picture of moon)
