Sandra Janusaite studied singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music, obtaining a MA diploma in opera and concert singing in 2001.

While studying at the academy, she spent a training period at the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg, Austria, under the tutelage of Professor Lilian Sukis in 1999, and participated in master classes for young singers with Professor Renata Scotto at Music Academy Stanislaw Moniuszko, Gdansk, in 2000.

Since December 2001 she has been principal soloist with the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, appearing in most of the leading soprano roles on its active repertoire.

Her roles include High Priestess (Aida); Micaela (Carmen); Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni); Lisa (The Queen of Spades); Senta (Der Fliegende Holländer); Rachel (La Juive); Tatiana (Eugene Onegin); Leonora (La Forza del Destino); Cio-cio-san (Madama Butterfly); Mimì (La Bohème) and Woman in Gintaras Sodeika's Vinter, a chamber opera whose national premiere was in August 2006.

She has also sung Angelica Suor Angelica, Adina L'elisir d'amore and Mrs Ford Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor in Lithuanian.

Sandra's leisure activities include swimming, cooking, walking, reading, and she is interested in philosophy and religion.
