From Los Angeles, Ryan McKinny is a member of the Houston Grand Opera Studio and graduate of The Juilliard School of Music.

Roles for Houston include Masetto (Don Giovanni) and Peter (Hänsel und Gretel). In HGO's 2005-2006 season, Ryan McKinny sang Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Zuniga (Carmen) and Nikitisch (Boris Godunov).

In summer 2006, he sang the Tutor (Le Comte Ory) and Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) at Wolf Trap Opera.

Ryan McKinny made his Carnegie Hall debut in December 2004 in Handel's Messiah with the Musica Sacra Orchestra.

Awards include third place in the 2005 Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum Competition, and 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions grand finalist.

Plans for next season include Sam Un ballo in Maschera and Flint Billy Budd at HGO, and Los Angeles opera debut as Montano (Otello).

Ryan delights in chasing after his eighteen-month-old daughter and loves to root for his baseball team, the New York Yankees.
