´óÏó´«Ã½ Cardiff Singer of the World and Song Prize competitor
Claire Meghnagi studied at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and in Boston and New York. Teachers include Efrat Ben-Nun, Carole Haber and Lillian Watson. She received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the Israel Vocal Arts Institute, IMERIS and the New England Conservatory.
After her debut as Tullia in Bononcini's Il trionfo de Camilla in Boston, she performed Le Feu/La Princesse (L'enfant et les sortilèges), The Granddaughter (The Rat Laughed) for Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for Haifa Symphony, Despina (Così fan tutte), La Bergère (Armide), Prima Cercatrice (Suor Angelica) for Israeli Opera, and covered First Innocent (The Minotaur) for Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Works performed include Handel's Messiah, Mozart's C minor mass, Mahler's Fourth Symphony, Brahms' Deutsches Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria, and her debut with the Israeli Philharmonic, performing Mendelssohn arias. Claire appeared in venues including the Barbican and Alice Tully Hall with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie in the Jardin des Voix tour 2007.
Other concert appearances include the Israel Festival and the Aix-en-Provence Festival. Future plans include Matthaeus-Passion for Israeli Opera, her debut CD featuring Israeli art songs, and recitals in Israel and Europe.
Claire has been broadcast on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3, ARTE, Radio France and the Israeli Broadcasting Authority. She enjoys reading, yoga and long walks.
