Anglesey water supplies are threatened as Llyn Alaw freezes over.

Freezing temperatures and snowfall threatened the water supply on Anglesey in January 1982, when Llyn Alaw (Lily Lake) froze over. Most of the 66,000 people living in Anglesey at that time received their water from the man-made lake.

However, the freezing conditions wasn't bad news for everyone as some people in north Wales got out their Christmas jumpers and skis and hit the powedery white slopes.
