Burberry has become synonymous with high-fashion style and quality, but this hasn't always been the case.

The Burberry trench coat

This clip examines the vital role Burberry played in providing British soldiers with revolutionary, durable clothing, including the 'trench coat' used by British forces to endure the harsh conditions faced in 1914 during World War One and in 1939, in World War Two.

In 2006, a decision was made to close its factory in Treorchy and transfer production to the Far East, causing a nation-wide uproar in the process. It waits to be seen if the company can recover its reputation again.
