"We went to war full of it ... with no knowledge of what it would actually be like."

Born in 1897, World War One veteran Harry Holman describes his reasons for wanting fight against Germany and her allies in the war.

In this interview from 1984, Harry recalls that with hindsight his reasons were pretty naive, and that neither he, nor his friends who also fought, were truly prepared for the grim realities of war.
