Hailing from the small village of Waunfawr, near Caernarfon, Big Leaves came together as a band before the members had even reached their teens.

In no time at all, Beganifs - as they were then known - were traipsing around the village selling the cassettes of home recordings in a wheelbarrow. Soon they were making an impression around the North with three minute catchy pop songs such as Gwenan Yn Y Gwenith, Sbyrtiad and Llwch.
