Better know for its Welsh language education centre, this sleepy seaside town in Ceredigion also has some nice surf.
This picturesque seaside village is better known for its Urdd Centre than for its surfing but is a popular spot with Ceredigion surfers whenever a large south westerly swell is running in winter time.
The village has a few cafes and shops and gets very busy during the summer months.
The sheltered, sandy beach here known as Traeth y Pentref (village beach) comes to life in large, winter storms.
This sheltered bay can get really good surf but becomes too deep for surfing around high tide, so is strictly a low to mid tide spot.
There are several large rocks on either side of the break so be careful in bigger surf.
To the north of the bay lies Carreg Bicca which is well worth a visit at low tide.
Legend has it that the rock is an aching tooth that was ripped from the mouth of the giant 'Bicca' and tossed into the sea.
There are also a couple of bays around the corner from Carreg Bicca which can hold good surf but are low tide breaks only, so time your surfs accordingly.
If the surf is flat, it's worth taking canoe out as the water is crystal clear along this part of the coast.
If you're surfing towards dusk, keep an eye out for Huw Puw. He was a sailor who died in the area back in the 18th century and some say he still wanders the shoreline at night.
