Rob Bell's Mars Hill Bible Church

(repeated Thursday, 23 November 6pm)

Peter Baker meets the founder of what's claimed to be the fastest growing church in American history.

Rob Bell established the Mars Hill Bible Church in Michigan, which attracts a Sunday congregation of over 10,000 people inside a re-designed shopping mall.

Hailed by some as the new Billy Graham and named among the top 25 most influential Christians in the USA, he's also been criticised by many for repainting Christianity in unorthodox colours.

During his recent UK tour, Rob Bell talks about his unconventional approach which encourages a questioning faith and in which the traditional understandings of the uniqueness of Jesus, the Trinity and the Virgin Birth have to be re-examined and re-interpreted for a modern era.

Peter also pays a visit to the first known Christian bookshop in a UK hospital to explore how this ground-breaking initiative fits into the bustling life of the University Hospital of Wales.
