Book Review of the Year

Following on from our yearly film review, on this week's programme (Sunday 17 December at 8.31am, repeated Thursday 21 December at 6.03pm) we feature the annual All Things Considered Book Review.

Roy Jenkins takes a look at some of the books released this year encouraging readers to think about what it really means to have a religious faith.

To help him in his deliberations, Roy is joined by writer and hymn scholar Kathryn Jenkins, Amanda Russell-Jones who's a teacher in Cardiff, and Chris Webb, the vicar of Llanfair Caereinion in Powys.

Among the books they discuss are:

  • Charles Colson: A Life Redeemed, by Jonathan Aitken
  • A Man's Estate (Library of Wales), by Emyr Humphreys
  • The Irresistible Revolution: Living As An Ordinary Radical, by Shane Claiborne
  • The Daily Telegraph Book Of 150 Hymns, by Dr Ian Bradley
  • Dwelling Place: A Plantation Epic, by Erskine Clarke
  • Eat This Book, by Eugene H Peterson
